Interaction Design Department Collaborates with Faculty and Students, Heading to Ars Electronica Festival in Austria

Led by Professor Hsin Chien Hunag from the Design Department at National Taipei University of Education, the "Sensing Taiwan" exhibition is gearing up to make its debut at the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, this September! The opening press conference for this year's event took place on August 26th at the Beijing Lun Hotel in Taipei. The event commenced with a mesmerizing performance by dancer Zhang Yi-Jun, creating a crescendo that unveiled the exhibition – projecting the presentation video of "Sensing Taiwan" onto the screen.

As one of the world's most significant art events, the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz boasts a history spanning 35 years. Over the years, it has nurtured countless renowned new media artists and has pioneered the intersection of technology and art, leading new trends. The emerging talents led by Professor Hsin Chien Hunag have also drawn significant attention. The pre-event gathering witnessed the presence of esteemed figures from the cultural sector, including Minister of Culture Shih Che, Deputy Minister of Culture Wang Shih-Si, and Taipei City Cultural Affairs Commissioner Tsai Shih-Ping. Notable partners such as NVIDIA, HP, Gigabyte, and many accomplished artists gathered under one roof.

This year's theme, "Sensing Taiwan," leverages Taiwan's diverse geographical landscapes, cultural heritage, and technological achievements. Through the power of technology, the exhibition invites visitors to collectively experience the multifaceted identity of Taiwan: from animations, videos, and virtual reality to installations, presenting an immensely rich spectrum of expressions. The Interactive Design Department, under the guidance of Director Hsiao-Yue Tsao, also participates. Alongside faculty member Che-Kuang Chuang, alumna designer Hsin, and this year's outstanding graduate team – "Through Shadows" (Zhou You-Yu, Chen Bo-Yu, Wei Jun-Yi, Xu Mu-Fan, Lai Wei-Cen) – they join together to exhibit their exemplary works at this globally significant art event.

The international exhibition is slated to take place from September 6th to 10th in Linz, Austria. For those unable to travel, the exhibition can be viewed online as well as simultaneously at the Beijing Lun Hotel in Taipei. All are welcome to partake in this grand celebration together!
