Congratulations! Instructor Che Kuang Chuang won the the second prize at the "Miaoli Art Exhibition" biennial exhibition

Congratulations! Che-Kuang Chuang, a project instructor in the Department of Interaction Design at Taipei Tech, won the second prize in the photography and new media art category at the "Miaoli Art Exhibition" biennial exhibition with his personal work "Multi Layered Landscape."

"Multi Layered Landscape" is a video art creation based on videos along the high-speed rail route. The railway serves as a cross-sectional profile of Taiwan, allowing a glimpse of the characteristics of each city. The artist created a virtual video installation using 3D software, recombining the high-speed rail videos taken along the route through AI tools in the installation. Techniques such as acceleration, three-dimensionality, and stylization were used to give these images different meanings, transforming them into a virtual and imaginative Taiwanese spatial landscape. At the end of the video, the artist subtly quoted the poem "Dianzaitou" by local poet Wu Sheng to make his commentary on the Taiwanese landscape.

The Miaoli Art Exhibition has been held since 1999 and expanded from a local art exhibition to a national call for submissions in 2012. Since 2014, it has been held as a biennial exhibition. For this edition of the Miaoli Art Exhibition, there were 404 submissions, and 85 works were selected for exhibition. All selected works will be exhibited at the Miaoli County Government Cultural and Tourism Bureau from July 4th to July 31st, 2024. Everyone is welcome to seize the opportunity to attend the exhibition.
